Our test track has been available for you since September 2023!
Hof-Plauen Airport is the only commercial airfield in Germany with an authorised dual operation: in addition to regular air traffic, automobile tests can be carried out in parallel on a test track set up especially for this purpose - without any major restrictions!
Shared use of flight operation areas
There is also the option of using flight operation areas, provided the air traffic situation permits and the tower gives the appropriate clearance.
However, as this involves areas relevant to air traffic control , prior authorisation must be obtained from the tower staff by radio before each use. The procedure is communicated to the external personnel as part of a briefing by the airport staff before the start of test operations and confirmed in a protocol. During the test operation, the external personnel have their own radio channel for internal communication with each other.
There is no legal entitlement to permanent use/rental, as flight operations have priority!

Operational safety
During the airport's opening hours, the in-house airport fire brigade provides fire protection and rescue services for the test operation. In addition, before the customer commences operations on site, the airport staff will provide detailed instructions on behaviour, test operations, radio procedures and behaviour in the event of emergencies and air emergencies. The staff also provide support for individual requests.

For operational reasons, our test facilities can only be hired on a daily basis. Hire by the hour is not possible. We ask for your understanding.
After use, a final report will be drawn up, signed by the hirer and landlord and sent by email. It serves the customer as a confirmation/delivery note and Flughafen GmbH as a basis for invoicing.
